IILM has always been sensitive to the needs of its employees, especially women. In this regard, a HR conference was organized on the 5th of September, 2014 with able support of NHRD to understand the various challenges faced by women in the workplace and the measures taken by the organizations to facilitate the women employees to work in spite of the various challenges faced by them in their home and work environments.

The conclave brought eminent and senior professionals from diverse industry backgrounds who shared some of their valuable experiences from practices followed in their organizations at facilitating women employees to work and bring out their true potential.

The primary theme for the panel discussion was “Unleashing the potential of Women in the Workplace: The Business Imperative”. The panel discussions were both enriching and thought provoking to all students and faculty members.

Mr. Dwarakanath, Advisor, Group Human Capital Max India Ltd, talked about having a more progressive future where employees and employers think ahead and start working towards bringing in more diversity at workplace.
Mr. Raj Nehru, Associate Director HR, Concentrix discussed the essential qualities of women which when tapped have indeed brought enormous benefits to the various organization.

Mr. Kamal Singh, Director General, National Human Resource Development Network shared an NHRD research on women at workplace and concluded that it is the mindset of the people that needs to be changed for a more inclusive growth.

Mr. Sujoy Basu, Head- Human Resources at ABC Consultants Private Ltd, highlighted the dos and don’ts of availing flexibility options at work place and also their possible repercussions.

The HR Conference 2014 concluded on a high note making the event a grand success, in particular enriching the young minds pursuing management education at IILM.
