Workshop on "Power of Emotions to Empower Self and Others" held on 23rd May, 2019 & 30th May, 2019
Under the Call for Care Program for teachers, IILM Center for Emotional Intelligence conducted two workshops titled 'Power of Emotions to Empower Self and Others' for teachers of two different schools in Delhi. The two hour long workshop was conducted on both the days by Prof. (Dr.) Abha Singh, Director IILM Center for Emotional Intelligence. Total 35 teachers on 23rd May and 49 teachers of 30th May participated in the workshop. It was observed that teachers got a scientific understanding of their emotions and its importance in their daily lives.During the workshop it was observed that teachers were receptive to learn certain spiritual techniques to enhance their teaching effectiveness. Teachers also learned how emotionally intelligent classrooms can be created using EI. It helped them to learn strategies for ensuring solid compassion in their ecosystem and then they learned yoga asana/brain exercises for positive emotional regulation.Such trainings would lead to improvement in expressions of positive emotions and lead to effective classroom teaching and learning. The participants were observed to be more emotionally aware on the topic post training.
Workshop on 'Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms' held on 27th May, 2019
IILM Center for Emotional Intelligence conducted a workshop titled 'Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms' under the Call for Care Program for teachers of a renowned school at Noida on 27th May, 2019. Prof. (Dr.) Abha Singh, Director IILM Center for Emotional Intelligence conducted a one and a half hour long workshop. Total 200 teachers attended the training. Training was found to be very effective as teachers learned about the importance and power of Emotions in creating Emotionally Intelligent classrooms. They were unaware on how they could use emotional Intelligence in classrooms. But after the workshop they found new techniques and methods to do so.Also training effectiveness was measured through "Mood Meter" by Marc Brackett (Yale University). It was found that participants lying earlier in Blue (Sad) and Red (Angry, Anxious) zone found themselves in Green (Calm) & Yellow (Happy) zone after the training. They also learned yoga asanas/ brain exercises for positive emotional regulation of self and others. Overall the workshop was found to be highly effective for teachers.
