1) On 08th November, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a workshop on 'Applying EI & Positive Psychology for Schools' for Counselors from various schools across Delhi–NCR at IILM Lodhi Road

• Training Objective : To help counselors understand the role & relevance of emotional intelligence and positive psychology in creating positive school environment.
• Training Outcome :Counselors learned the techniques of emotion regulation for creating positive school ecosystem.



2) On 05th November, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a session at 3 day National Workshop on 'Emotional Intelligence & Positive Parenting for Excellence in Children' organized by IAHRW & Department of Human Development & Family Empowerment, Bharti College, University of Delhi for 70 professionals

• Training Objective : To emphasize the importance of positive communication between parent and child and to learn techniques to motivate children towards success and healthy living.
• Training Outcome :To be able to understand the emotions of children, to manage negative emotions among children and motivate them towards success and healthy living.



3) On 23rd October, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a workshop on 'EI for Health, Happiness & Success' for students of Bal Bharti School, Pitampura

• Training Objective : Training objective was to help students understand the importance and relevance of emotions and emotional regulation for positive mental health and happy life.
• Training Outcome :Students learned brain exercises/ yoga asana for positive emotion regulation. They also learned strategies & techniques for leading happy & successful life.



4) On 30th August, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a workshop on 'EI for Communication and Interpersonal Skills' for Technical officers at CEPTAM, D.R.D.O., Government of India

• Training Objective : Training objective was to highlight the role of Emotional Intelligence for effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training Outcome :Participants learned strategies to positively regulate their mood and emotions for effective and successful interpersonal communication.



5) On 3rd August, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a workshop on ’31 Daily Practices for Mindfulness in Education’ for teachers of Banyan tree School.

• Training Objective : Training objective was to bring real behavioral change through meditation and to scientifically track the behavioral change among teachers, who will further inculcate these practices among their students to bring about a positive change in school ecosystem.
• Training Outcome :Teachers learned some of the techniques of mindfulness meditation like ‘ball balancing’ and ‘silent screaming’ enabled teachers to learn how mindfulness ensures positive emotional expression and regulation.



6) On 26th July, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a workshop for class XII students of Banyan tree school on 'EI for Conflict Resolution'.

• Training Objective : The objective of this training was to make students recognize the role of positive emotions in managing conflicts and to facilitate strategies for ensuring conflict resolution for a positive school ecosystem.
• Training Outcome :Students learned about the ways of using EI for conflict resolution. They also learned yoga asana for positive emotion regulation which facilitates resolving of conflicts.



7) On 20th July, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a workshop on 'EI for Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms' for principals and senior teachers of various schools across Delhi NCR.

• Training Objective : Training objective was to help participants to understand the importance and relevance of emotions in everyday life, to help them learn yoga asana/brain exercises for positive emotional regulation and well being and make them recognize the role of positive emotions in creating emotionally intelligent classrooms for self-fulfillment by facilitating strategies for ensuring solid compassion in school ecosystem.
• Training Outcome :Teachers learned about the importance and power of Emotions in creating Emotionally Intelligent classrooms. They also learned toga asanas/ brain exercises for positive emotional regulation of self and others.



8) On 9th, 11th & 15th July, 2019 IILMCEI conducted a workshop for the PGDM students on 'Mindfulness for Goal Orientation and Success' at IILM, Greater Noida Campus and Lodhi Road campus.

• Training Objective : Training Objective focus was to understand, learn and gain insight for mindfulness. Second objective was to use mindfulness to know thought patterns for self-awareness and be more open and accepting. Learning experiential mindfulness to reflect and redirect energy / thought for developing strong positive mindsets and to use mindfulness to achieve goals and be successful.
• Training Outcome :Students learned about the concept of mindfulness and how it can lead to self-awareness. They also learned how mindfulness can be helpful in being more open and accepting in life which can lead to success and excellence. Understanding of mindfulness helped students learn about having strong positive mindsets in order to achieve goals.



9) On 6th July, 2019 IILMCEI organized a workshop on 'Let the Story do the Talking: To Enhance Self Expression among Children' for teachers of Banyan Tree School.

• Training Objective : Training objective was to introduce the concept of storytelling in classrooms to the teachers as a pedagogy in learning and self-expression among students.
• Training Outcome : Teachers learned about the importance and relevance of storytelling as a pedagogical approach for self- expression in classrooms to enhance student’s attention, material retention, visualization and imagination.



10) On 4th June 2019, IILMCEI conducted Induction Training for PAN India, 45 University teachers at Ramanujan College, Delhi University, organized by Teacher Learning Center (MHRD) on the topic "Emotional Intelligence for Health, Happiness and Success".

• Training Objective : The objective of the training was planned to help teachers understand the importance and relevance of emotions in everyday life, to help them learn yoga asana /brain exercises for positive emotional regulation and well-being, to make them recognize the role of positive emotions in creating emotionally intelligent classrooms for Self-Fulfillment, and to facilitate strategies for ensuring solid compassion in school ecosystem.
• Training Outcome : Outcome of the training enabled teachers to have scientific understanding of importance and relevance of Emotional Intelligence in their daily lives. Teachers were able to learn yoga asana/ brain exercises for positive emotional regulation and wellbeing, it helped them to recognize the role of EI in creating emotionally intelligent classrooms and learn strategies for ensuring solid compassion in their ecosystem.



11) Teachers training held on 1st June 2019, for Banyan School Tree on the topic "Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms".

• Training Objective : The objective of the training was planned to help teachers understand the importance and relevance of emotions and emotional intelligence in everyday life and identify emotions in themselves and others, to help them learn yoga asana /brain exercises for positive emotional regulation and well-being, to make them recognize the role of positive emotions in creating emotionally intelligent classrooms for Self-Fulfillment, and to facilitate strategies for regulating emotions and solid compassion in school ecosystem.
• Training Outcome : Outcome of the training enabled teachers to have scientific understanding of importance, relevance, application of Emotional Intelligence in their daily lives. Teachers were able to learn yoga asana/ brain exercises for positive emotional regulation and wellbeing. It helped them to recognize and be aware of the role EI plays in creating emotionally intelligent classrooms and learn strategies for ensuring solid compassion in their ecosystem.



12) On 30th May 2019, IILMCEI conducted workshop for teachers of Genesis School, Noida on the topic "Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms".

• Training Objectives : Training objective focus was to help teachers understand the importance and role of EI in creating emotionally intelligent classrooms for active and experimental learning and help them learn strategies for managing class as well as ensuring compassion in their ecosystem.
• Training Outcome : Teachers learned strategies and techniques for creating emotionally intelligent classroom and recognized the role and importance of EI for managing class as well as ensuring learned asanas and brain exercises for positive emotional regulation.



13) Conducted two workshop for students at the Banyan Tree School on 29th May 2019, as a part of Young Scholar Program, on the topics "Emotional Intelligence in the age of Artificial Intelligence" and "Strategies for becoming Emotionally Intelligent".

• Training Objectives : Training objective was to help students understand the importance and relevance of Emotional Intelligence in the age of artificial intelligence. Training also focused on helping the students emote, express and regulate emotions in everyday life and help them learn strategies to become emotionally intelligent personalities.
• Training Outcome : Students learned about the scientific importance and relevance of Emotional Intelligence in the age of Artificial Intelligence. They learned strategies on how to emote, express and regulate emotions in everyday life and become emotionally intelligent personalities.



14) On 27th May 2019, Training was conducted for teachers of Delhi Public School, Noida on the topic "Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms".

• Training Objectives : Training Objective was to educate and train teachers to develop and apply Emotional Intelligence in their classrooms and learn strategies that enhances and ensures compassion in their ecosystem. They also learned yoga Asanas / brain exercises to manage self and others and ensure high performance.
• Training Outcome : Teachers learned about the importance and power of Emotions in creating Emotionally Intelligent classrooms. They also learned toga asanas/ brain exercises for positive emotional regulation of self and others.



15) On 25th May 2019, Workshop for 11th and 12th standard Students of Banyan Tree School was conducted on the topic "Emotional Intelligence for Career Aspiration and Happiness" was conducted.

• Workshop Objective : The training objective was to help students recognize and be aware of their emotions and others and understand the importance and relevance of emotional intelligence in career success, positive living and happy life.
• Workshop Outcome :Students had a scientific learning and understanding of emotions and learned about its importance in their daily lives. They also learned positive strategies and techniques for successful and happy life.



16) On 23th May 2019, Training for teachers of Amrita Vidyalaya was held on the topic "Power of Emotions to Empower Self and Others".

• Training Objective : The Objective of this training was to help teachers to understand the importance and relevance of emotions in everyday life and to make them recognize the role of EI in creating emotionally intelligent classrooms. Facilitate teachers to learn strategies for regulating emotions and ensuring solid compassion in their ecosystem.
• Training Outcome : Outcome of this training was that teachers got a scientific understanding of their emotions and its importance in their daily lives. Teachers also learned how emotionally intelligent classrooms can be created using EI. It helped them to learn strategies for ensuring solid compassion in their ecosystem and then they learned yoga asana/brain exercises for positive emotional regulation.



17) On 9th April 2019, IILMCEI conducted workshop for outgoing batch of Ramanujan College, Delhi University on the topic "EI for Career Success and Happiness"

• Training Objectives : Training objective was to help students understand the importance and relevance of emotions and emotional regulation for positive mental health and happy life.
• Training Outcome : Students understood the importance and role of EI in IQ and also learned positive strategies and techniques for successful career and happy life.



18) FDP held on 6th March, 2019 for IILM faculty members on the topic "EI for Happy life"

The Objective of this FDP was to help participants to understand the importance of Emotions and Emotion Intelligence in life and identify Emotions in themselves and others. It was conducted with a view to Create Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms and enhance participants Emotional Competence to become effective in personal and professional lives.

Training Outcome: Outcome of this FDP was that faculty members came to know about the scientific base of E.I and practical application in daily life and also became aware of their E.I level and indicators of areas of improvement.



16) Director IILMCEI delivered invited talk on "Gandhian Perspective on Mental Health for Joyful Living" at an Interdisciplinary Seminar in Satyawati College, University of Delhi on 7th March, 2019

This interdisciplinary talk focused on how Mahatma Gandhi used EI for mental health and peaceful living. The talk emphasized youth to adopt three monkey principle of Gandhi to live mentally healthy and happy life. Self-regulation is the key for harmonious existence of self-i.e., body, mind and soul.

19) Teacher Training held on 20th April, 2019 for Banyan Tree School Teachers on the topic "Call for Care Teachers Program Series-Creating Emotionally Intelligent Classrooms"

1. Marrying Emotional Intelligence with Design Thinking: Nov 15, 2018

While we all are living in a very dynamic and complex environment. In this situation of increased complexity and change, there has been a re-examination of the factors contributing to personal and professional effectiveness. Increasingly, the older notion of intelligence and technical competence being the sole predictors of effectiveness is being contested. Some interesting new ideas in this regard are the concepts of Multiple Intelligence put forth by Howard Gardner and Emotional Intelligence popularized by Daniel Goleman. These broader forms of intelligence have been found to be useful in multitude of situations, including jobs. Emotional Intelligence relates to- sensitivity to and management of self-in relationships. Empirical evidence has suggested that Emotional Intelligence (EI) competencies are at the heart of effective personal and workplace relationships and performance.

Design thinking, as explained by Tim Brown, is a human-centred approach to innovation that draws from the designer's toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements for business success.

2. IILM University sets the stage for Emotional Intelligence in 21st Century Education - September 14, 2018


Empirical evidences and data highlight the importance of equipping students emotionally to succeed in life. World Economic forum has named Emotional Intelligence (EI) as one of the top 10 job skills in 2020. Given the increasing importance of Emotional Intelligence, IILM University Gurugram organized a Panel Discussion on the "Critical Role of Emotional Intelligence in School Education." This session deliberated by Dr. Aruna Broot (Psychologist), Dr. Anjana Sen (Physician, Author and consultant for EI, Founding Members of the Forum for Emotional Intelligence Learning), Mr. Nishchint Chawla (Director, HeritageXperiential Learning School Gurugram), Dr M. Shanawaz (HOD Psychology Department, Jamia Milia Islamia), Ms. Rashmi Malik (Principal, Salwan Public School, Gurugram) and session moderator, Dr. Shuchi Agarwal (Professor, IILM) discussed the importance of enhancing social emotional competencies of students to enable them to prepare for upcoming opportunities in the economy characterized by prevalence of Industry 4.0. The discussion concluded that EI is the strongest driver of leadership and personal excellence, and the single biggest predictor of performance. The experts predicted that with the advent of Artificial intelligence a lot of jobs are going to disappear in the future, but emotional intelligence will gain importance and become a differentiator.




The event was well attended by senior educators, school principals, teachers, corporates and students from across Delhi-NCR. The Panel discussion was followed by a workshop on "Emotional Intelligence: A Key Enabler to Classroom Effectiveness" to explore the practical strategies to develop emotional language in the classroom and the development of emotional vocabulary as an educator. It was conducted by Dr. Aruna Broota, who is a well-known Psychologist and well received by the participants. A parallel workshop for students, "Unlocking EQ" was conducted by IILM senior faculty, Dr. Sona Vikas and Dr. Gargi Sandilya. The students not only got practical insights on how they could conduct themselves better but also, explored their own emotional quotient through a psychometric test.




This event was part of the series of workshops that IILM University regularly conducts, to deliberate on contemporary trends and spreading awareness amongst students, educators and corporates. This workshop was conducted by IILM's Centre of Emotional Intelligence, which has been set up to support people of all ages in developing emotional intelligence skills to thrive in this dynamic world through training and personal coaching develop emotional competencies in organizations, academia and schools.


3. Emotional Intelligence Workshop for Banyan Tree School teachers - July 11 & 13, 2018


This was a 3.5 hour workshop for school teachers wherein the participants discovered the importance of emotional intelligence in daily life through activities. Further, through audio visuals, discussions and role plays they uncovered ways to improve their self-awareness, vocabulary of emotions, self-regulation, empathy and managing relationships - all aspects of Emotional Intelligence. The workshop ended with a discussion on how EI can be woven into classroom teaching methods and the difference it can make therein.

5. Overview of Emotional Intelligence for class 11 students at DPS Indirapuram - May 1, 2018


This was a 1.5 hour interactive session with students of class 11, wherein the participants learnt to differentiate emotional intelligence from traditional intelligence quotient. They were exposed to a richer vocabulary of emotions, with some tips to recognize and name the emotions they are feeling. Through activities they learnt how to increase their self-awareness. Simple tools for self-management along with an overview of developing empathy and managing relationships were also covered briefly.
