Learning Enviornment

IILM provides a conducive learning environment for students which is supported by facilities like Library, Computer Lab, state-of-art Lecture Theatres, Syndicate Rooms and an Auditorium.
Library:

Well-equipped, fully computerized multimedia library provides the latest and up-to-date reading, research and reference material in print, electronic and audio-visual formats. The total collection of books is more than 7,000 and subscriptions are made to about 200 national and international journals.

In addition, to cultivate values in students and help them in their over all development, the library has an array of books on social issues as well as autobiographies, encyclopedia and historical readings. 
The audio-visual materials available include a collection of business games, simulated corporate scenarios and discourses by industrialists. The vast reading room of the library provides a conducive environment for complete concentration to all students.

There are 21 Pentium Dell machines equipped with CD-ROM drives and printers. The Internet facility is available in separate carrels, which constitute an important part of library infrastructure.

The reference section of the library has further been strengthened. It contains several prestigious and well known publications such as 10 volumes of Blackwell Encyclopedia of Management, The New Webster's International Encyclopedia, Geeds and Grosset's Family Encyclopedia, the International Encyclopedia of Marketing published by European Marketing Union, Chronology of Twentieth Century History of Business and Economics (Two Volumes), Brockhomptons Dictionary of Arts, Ideas Science and History, MIT volume on Organizational Behaviour and Processes, IRIS Yearbook of India, Global Competitiveness Reports. 
The library receives an- array of 200 Indian and foreign journals which includes prestigious journals like Harvard Business Review, McKinsey Quarterly, the Economist, Fortune, Vikalpa , Management Review and many others. 
The Library has obtained membership to several full-text online electronic databases with access to nearly 4000 journals. These journals are accessible through the University of Bradford gateway. The Library also subscribes to online CAPITALINE database. Library also subscribes to the monthly database of Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy.

Movie Library


In an effort to introduce new and innovative pedagogical tools. The Library has procured a large number of movies CD-ROM, VCD/DVDs, related to various subjects taught in management programs.

Institutional Library Membership


Expanding its wings of association, the library has acquired institutional membership of American Information Resource Centre and British Council Library. Both the libraries are being extensively used both by the students and faculty members of IILM for reference and research purposes.


Developing Library Network


Our IILM library joined the Developing Library Network DELNET) in 2005. DELNET is an electronic network of more than 1500 major libraries of India. Using the combined resources of all the member institutes. DELNET has created very useful databases of books, Journals, Audio-Visual material and CD-ROMs etc. The IILM library now has online access to all these databases and also our IILM libraries own database of books is also available on DELNET.


EBSCO Business Source Premier Database


Library has acquired EBSCO Business Source Premier Database, which provides thousand of full text case study, biography, speech, working paper, report, proceeding, article, book review in different areas i.e. Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Information and Social Insurance and hospital management.


Computing Facility


Computing is a vital instructional and research tool. In recognition of the contribution that computers can make to further the educational objectives, the institute has a state-of-the-art computing facility on its campus. With a campus wide wireless LAN, IILM is among the few institutions around the world that offer this convenience to its faculty and students. High speed internet connectivity through a dedicated link ensures an uninterrupted access to the information superhighway.

The computing facility is divided into three areas, the main computer lab, library and the instructional lab with a total of about 150 systems. Other than the computers available for use by the students, the backend is supported by robust IBM servers and a CISCO firewall. In order to provide exposure to different Operating Systems, the Institute provides a well rounded, hands-on experience on different systems available in the corporate world today. Our computer labs are equipped with Linux  Ubuntu, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Among the variety of software available is the latest MS Office 2007 and SPSS 15. 

IILM also has a sophisticated web based intranet system that offers continuous interaction between the faculty and students. Apart from providing a life long web based email account, the intranet also has facilities of online discussion boards, personalized web pages and courseware exchanges.
