Seminar For The Participants From Portugal - April - 21 - 2008 |

IILM Institute for Higher Education organized a half day seminar on April, 21, 2008 at its Lodhi Road campus. The seminar was attended by 45 participants from Catholic university of Portugal (AACSB accredited) and University of Nova (EQUIS accredited).Of these 7 were senior professors in various disciplines of management and the rest were businessmen/women, professionals attending MBA program. |

The visitors arrived at 12. 30 pm and had their lunch .The seminar began at 1.40 pm. The introductory remarks were given by Prof. Bhattacharya, Director General, IILM .He welcomed the guests and gave them some input on Indian economy. The introductory session had a talk by Mr. Amit Paul from Ericsson who highlighted the role of Telecommunication Industry in India and the challenges faced by Ericsson. This was followed by an informative and interesting presentation by Ms Sapna Popli, Associate Professor and Mr. Rahul Mishra, Assistant Professor, International Business. It gave the audience an insight into the minds of Indian consumers and generated lot of discussion. |

Both the sessions were followed by open Q-Ans. session .The audience was very inquisitive and asked number of Questions which continued over tea also. The issues that came up during discussions were related to Indian market , Sustainability of India's growth, Regional and cultural disparity and its management, Indian society( dowry, caste system) , mindset of new generation Indians, Indian competitors for Ericcsson, Managing of logistics given the poor infrastructure etc. |

The seminar's success could be judged by the audience reaction .They gave a very positive feedback and asked many questions about IILM. Interactions like these help people from different countries to come together and exchange views on various issues which help in increasing cultural understanding and also provide platform to explore academic relationships between the two institutes. |
