Since 2005, IILM has instituted an annual lecture by distinguished leaders on important issues of concern. The lecture series is
dedicated to the memory of the late Smt. Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India and is a celebration of the vision, leadership,exceptional achievements and human qualities of the founder of IILM Shri Kulwant Rai. Shri Kulwant Rai's aim throughout his life has been to develop students as responsible, successful, socially sensitive and globally aware members of society who are able to contribute towards peace and sustainable development, and transmit India's rich and deep-rooted values to the rest of the world.
The inaugural lecture on "Achieving Peace in our Times" was delivered by His Holiness the Dalai Lama at an important function chaired by Former Prime Minister, Shri I.K. Gujral in November, 2005.Subsequent lectures have been delivered by Shri V Krishnamurthy, Chairman, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council who spoke on 'Indian's future economic growth'; Shri Murari Bapu, who shared his thoughts on " The Meaning of Success and Ways of Achieving It"; and Shri Wajahat Habibullah, Chief Information Commissioner of India. who spoke on Smt Gandhi's visionary commitment to promoting a sustainable environment, and to the promotion of Indian arts and culture, with Dr Kapila Vatsyayan, who presided over the function, sharing her own reminiscences and underlining India's cultural ethos and the pride of place it accords to respect for the environment.
