Q. What are the Learning facilities at IILM?
IILM Institute for Higher Education Lodhi Road and Gurgaon campus has state-of-the-art computing facilities and spacious lecture theatres supported by an extensive library, residency facilities and a student recreational centre. Both the campuses have the right balance between concrete structure and natural ambience, in line with our mandate of holistic development.
The classrooms and the seminar halls are fully air - conditioned for long hours of teaching and interactive participation with a spacious well - planned campus. All classrooms and seminar halls are equipped with state-of-the-art audio-video aids with ceiling mounted LCDs. The state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of 275 people, is equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment in a centrally air-conditioned environment. The auditorium is used round the year for hosting intra and inter college events like seminars, conferences, debates, and cultural activities. It is also utilized by industry associations for conferences and seminars.
For training and MDP sessions there is a dedicated 'Executive Training Centre' with lounge and classrooms, equipped with all the necessary infrastructure to enhance learning and experience sharing during. All management programmes have a lot of learning accruing from student self-directed team work. Separate syndicate rooms with computing facilities to help student discussions and group tasks.
The Computer center is equipped with branded personal computers adequately supported by high speed internet round-the-clock for student access. It is also equipped with a wide range of licensed system software and applications software. The entire campus is connected with Wi-Fi network. Both the campuses have a sophisticated web based intranet system that offers continuous interaction between the faculty and students. Apart from providing a life-long web-based email account, the intranet also has facilities for online testing, discussion boards and courseware exchange.
The well furnished and air conditioned library has a stock of more than 20,000 volumes and subscribes to about 60 Indian and Foreign periodicals spanning all aspects of management. The library also houses 175 video’s, annual reports, management games, news clippings, newsletters and case studies. The open access system facilities free use of books on the shelf.The library is a member American Centre Library, British Council Library and MDI, New Delhi and American Centre Library, British Council Library and MDI, New Delhi. Have also acquired several on-line databases to meet the information requirement for both Faculty Members and students. These databases are EBSCO Business Source Premire, Prowess, Business Beacon, India Trades and Capital line.
Q. What is the Programme structure of PGP?
Ans : IILM Institute's pedagogical approach to management education combines theory with practice. Classroom learning is highly participative and interactive involving case studies, simulations and exercises, individual / group presentations, role-plays, live projects, lectures along with seminars and inputs from distinguished speakers from academia and industry.
The course is spread over eight trimesters. The first 4 terms cover the core courses (compulsory courses) to learn the basics of management leading to the strong and advance electives in later terms, i.e. terms 5 to 8. IILM Institute offers specialization in all functional areas of management like Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business and Information Technology. In addition, students have other courses to choose from contemporary areas like social sector, urban infrastructure environment and natural resource, media, economics etc. Special classes in French, Spanish or Mandarin are also offered to prepare students for international careers.
Q. What credit system is followed in the PGP Programme?
Ans: The courses offered by IILM Institute for Higher education are full credit courses or half credit courses. A full credit course entails 30 hours of teaching and half credit 15 hours. Students are expected to complete 20 full credit core courses and 12 full credit elective courses in a period of two years. In addition to this, the student has to compulsorily pass 8 value added courses over a period of two years. The award is also subject to the conditions that the student has paid all the due fees and complied with all requirements of the institute.
Q. What is the Grading and Evaluation process of the PGP programme ?
Ans: Assessment in all courses is continuous and comprehensive. IILM Institute of Higher Education follows the Grade Point System of evaluation on a scale of 4. Students are expected to go through the academic rigors where evaluation is based on continuous activities and course work. A minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 is required in order to have good academic standing, which makes a student eligible to receive the Diploma.

Ans: Specialization in contemporary and upcoming areas like Design Management, Telecom, Insurance, Banking, Automotive Management & Finance Services are offered along with the regular specializations in Finance, marketing, Human resources and Information technology.

Ans: The LDU has a significant contribution towards student development by providing the following services:
Personality Development Programmes: The personality development programme aims at strengthening and developing the students for the corporate world. Industry specific need based workshops are conducted to enhance students' soft skills as confidence, attitude, interpersonal skills and basic etiquettes and grooming.
Mentoring: Each student is assigned a faculty mentor for his/her stay at the institute. The mentor helps students in their holistic development along with motivating them to achieve personal and professional excellence.
Psychometric Testing: The psychometric test are conducted which help the students to understand themselves, their skills and competence and identify the lacunae for further development. LDU offers various assessment tools like personality, motivation, attitude, anxiety for the students.
Focused Group Discussions: Focused group discussions are conducted amongst the students on the most relevant issues faced by them and they also share their own experiences. It provides an opportunity for disclosure with similar set of people and help them to learn from other's experiences.
Counselling Services: Counselling services are offered to the students in order to help them in realizing their true self. Counselors are available on the campus to help the students in managing their career aspirations, managing emotions, handling situations.
Resource Centre: A well equipped Resource Centre with self help books, psychometric tests, audio video aids operates at the campus that encourages students towards self help.
Q. What extra curricular activities do you have on campus ?
Ans: The Institute focuses on holistic development of the students and provides support in all non-academic and co-curricular activities. To promote such activities, the Institute provides platform to the student to pursue their interests. Q. What placement services does IILM have ?
Ans: IILM attracts some of the best recruiters from India and Abroad. The Industry Engagement facilitates excellent placements as well as desired career shifts. A team of dedicated and trained professionals provides career counselling and domain expertise and a separate team is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with recruiters and initiate the process of matching available positions in Industry with the talent available from the student pool at IILM.
The placement process commences with a series of pre-placement talks (PPT) by the job posting and preliminary selection process by recruiters . The placement process starts in the month of October and continues till the end of the course.
The Career Management Center is a unique initiative of IILM Institute for Higher Education. It has as its foundation the aim of providing a comprehensive array of services and support for its students and alumni that will assist them in their life-long career development and placement.
The Industry engagement center acts as a central hub for all student development and placement related activities and is a repository of all information and resources. It builds in its students the competencies that are valued by prospective employers, forecasting those that will be essential from a future perspective. Ans: We provide placement assistance for life.
Q. What about Summer Internship? Do you provide it? If yes on What basis or which Company?
Ans : Summer Internship is schedule for six to eight weeks in the month of May-June every year.
Our institute facilitates summer internship for its students by giving them an opportunity to choose one of the industry areas prevailing in the corporate. Based on these choices, an analysis is done by the Placement Team and opportunities are created for the students in the desired and opted sector.

Ans : All students are given final & summer placement opportunities based on their specialization & sectoral preference.

Ans :The Faculty of the IILM Institute for Higher Education is reputed for quality teaching and research. Q. Are the faculty in GGN and LR campus the same?
Ans : IILM has a diverse pool of 95 Full time, 13 Part time, 7 Distinguished Professors & International Faculties which are shared between both campuses . Both campuses have separate set of faculties.
Q. Are the faculties better in GGN or in LR?
Ans : At both the campuses the level and experience of faculties are same and there is no comparison. For outstation students Gurgaon Campus would be a better choice as we offer Institute managed hostel facility separately for boys and girls.

Ans: Students who have completed their graduation in any stream or appearing in final year of their graduation from universities and institutions recognized by AICTE/UGC/AIU can apply.

Ans : Netbooks & Course Packs are part of Course fee.No charges can be refunded.
Q. How much of my fees is refundable?
Ans: Registration, Admission and Orientation fee is not refundable. In case the student withdraws before the start of the trimester i.e. June 2011, the first trimester tuition fee would be refunded in full. No refund would be made after the beginning of the trimester.
Q. If I get admission in any other campus of IILM will I get my fee back or it will be transferred?
Ans: Yes, your fee can be transferred to any program and any campus of IILM.
Q. I have my exams going on till 2nd week of June so I will miss my bridge course what should I do?
Ans : There is certain percent of weightage given to Bridge course and if you are not able to attend it then your weightage would be compensated through an Assignment in the 1st term exams.
Q. I have not given MAT or CAT or any other exam am I will eligible for the PI?
Ans : No, without CAT / MAT score students are not eligible to apply for our PGP programme.
Q. Do you have Management Quota?
Ans : No, we do not have any such quota.
Q. Do you provide with Foreign Trip/Tour during the PGP Course?
Ans : Yes , IILM provides opportunities to students in getting valuable international exposure through the Student Exchange Program; under which students can go to our partner universities for an academic term during their post graduate course. We have tie up with almost 29 Universities across the globe for the same.
Q. What kind of financial aid do you offer ?
IILM Institute helps those students who are unable to secure loan from banks by providing financial assistance and loan facility to all students from our student Financial Services.It also has tied up with HDFC Bank.

The Scholarship norms as below are strictly adhered

Q. Do you have hostel facilities and what are the expenses?
Ans: IILM Gurgaon Campus is a residential campus committed to providing learning opportunities that support the academic mission of the postgraduate program. Hostel facility is provided and managed by Institute and students. The cost of Hostel is Rs 60000 for two years excluding Meals.
The fee of Rs 8.1 lacs of Gurgaom campus include Hostel Fee & Rs 7.5 Lacs (without Hostel)
Fee of Lodhi Road Campus is Rs 8.1 lacs (without Hostel).
Please note: No Hostel facility is being provided at LR campus.

Ans. No, Both are at different Location.

Ans : No, We only offer Round the clock transport from hostel to campus and back to hostel for Gurgaon students.
Q. Does PG Programme offer foreign languages ?
Ans: The Institute offers students the option of learning one foreign language amongst German, Mandarin, and French taught by the most reputed faculty from well known language schools .
Q. Is this PGDM recognized or affiliated by Some University/UGC?
Ans : IILM offers its students twin full time Post Graduate Diplomas in Business and Management:
Diploma in Management to be awarded after the completion of first year
Diploma in the area of specialization after the successful completion of second year specializing in one of the functional areas of Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology, Healthcare, Retail, Banking or Design.
IILM Institute for Higher Education, Gurgaon is recognized by the joint committee of UGC AICTE & DEC. IILM Institute for Higher Education is a partner institute under the IGNOU Convergence Scheme. On successful completion of the programme requirement students are eligible for the IGNOU-MBA award.
Q. What is the recognization / approval of IILM Gurgaon ? Is IILM Lodhi road too approved by the joint Committee?
Ans : Our Gurgaon Campus is recognized by the joint committee of AICTE-UGC-DEC. The Lodhi Road campus is an extension of our Gurgaon campus for the convenience of the students.
IILM Institute for Higher Education Lodhi Road and Gurgaon are partner institutes under the IGNOU Convergence Scheme. On successful completion of the programme requirement, students are eligible for the IGNOU-MBA award.
Q. Is this PGDM or PGP?
Ans : IILM offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
Q. Is this course equivalent to MBA?
Ans : Since it is not equivalent to MBA so we are offering parallel IGNOU MBA under the IGNOU Convergence Scheme.
Q. Why it is recognized by DEC? why you did not go for AICTE Approval?
Ans : Three types of approvals are required in India to run a valid programme and we are approved by DEC. Distance Education Council (DEC) is the apex body for the promotion, coordination and maintenance of standards in the Open and Distance Learning system in the country. The Distance Education Council accords recognition to the Universities / Institutions to offer programmes through Distance Mode (Face to face / ODL).
Q. Is NIILM / IILM Business School also yours?
Ans : The Rai Foundation Group (whose website lists the name of it Chairman and Founder as Mr Vinay Rai) has promoted a new institute which is named 'IILM Business School' (www.iilm.edu.in). This institute is in no way connected with us or affiliated with us in any manner. This is to caution the public and student community that we would not be responsible in any way for the activities / courses of the said IILM Business School.
Q. Is AICTE approval required apart from DEC?
Ans : NO, As DEC policy pertaining to recognition given to ODL Institutions has been governed by the MoU between the three apex bodies namely UGC-AICTE & DEC. Thus a DEC approved institute is also recognized by UGC-AICTE.
Q. What are govt. job prospects after doing an education which is recognized by DEC?
All the qualifications awarded through Distance Education / ODL Institutions approved by the DEC are recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government.
Q. Is this diploma considered Post graduate degree equivalent for Phd course or in applying for doctorate in foreign universities. ?
Ans : Some Universities may consider and some may not. We advice students to opt for the MBA degree from IGNOU as IILM Institute for Higher Education is a partner institute under the IGNOU Convergence Scheme and IGNOU is well known recognized university world wide.
